At Burnside Dental Clinic and Implant Centre Dr Hitesh Ghai is our leading Principal Dentist. He is joined by Dr Mayuri Sahgal, Dr Mark Moore and Dr Surbhi Sehgal along with a team of experienced Oral Health Therapists, Hygienists. We pride ourselves on our exceptional care of our patients and you can be assured you’re in safe hands when you visit our clinic.
Dr Ghai has been the principle dentist at Burnside since 2009. He has a very humble and down to earth nature, and enjoys all aspects of dentistry. His special interests in dentistry are implants and full mouth rehabilitation and oral surgery. He stays at the forefront of all recent advances in clinical dentistry and is diligent in providing dental care procedures while using state of the art technology, materials and equipment. He has a Masters Certificate in Implant Dentistry from UCLA.
Away from the practice, Dr Ghai is an avid golfer, lover of cricket and has a keen interest in Motor Cycles. He enjoys spending time with his wife, daughter and dogs.
Dr Mayuri Sahgal is co-owner of Burnside Dental Practice with her husband, Dr Hitesh Ghai.
Dr Sahgal graduated from the University in 2007 and has worked in private practices since.
Dr Sahgal has a very gentle and patient manner and enjoys treating patients of all ages, from very young right through to the elderly. She is a believer in the importance of preventative and conservative dentistry. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and also has a large interest in Invisalign treatment, root canal therapy and ceramic restorations.
Outside of the practice, May spends her time with her family, daughter and dogs.
Dr Mark Moore grew up in Adelaide and graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1982. His first dental position was in Loxton and he remained there until moving back to Adelaide and joining us at Burnside Dental Practice in 2020 following the sale of his practice in Loxton. He an interest in all facets of dentistry and largely because this is a necessity for a country dentist. Mark has a wide interest in cosmetic dentistry including crown, veneers & composite build ups and enjoys seeing his patient’s happy with their finished result.
Outside of dentistry, Mark is an avid road and mountain bike rider, and enjoys riding to work. He has a passion for sailing and has recently purchased a yacht to develop his sailing skills further. He is married to Deb, and they have three (adult) children, and two Labradors.
Dr Surbhi Sehgal (Dr Surbhi) – graduated from The University of Adelaide with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and is currently working within the private and public sector. She believes in delivery high quality patient centred care through a comforting and friendly manner. Surbhi is always striving to ensure that her patients feel comfortable and supported in her care, and she take pride in her ability to build trusting relationships with patients of all ages.
Dr Surbhi has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry and minor oral surgery and a strong commitment to continue professional development.
Outside of her work, Dr Surbhi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and is always on the lookout for good walks and new brunch spots.
Parwin has been an important part of our hygiene team at Burnside Dental since 2010.
Parwin has a warm and very caring nature and quickly builds a rapport with her patients of all ages. She has a special interest in treating patients with moderate to advanced periodontal disease, and like all of our hygienists/Therapists has a strong preventative focus.
When Parwin is not working she loves to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Sinead began her passion in the field of dentistry working as a dental assistant in Mildura, Victoria for 6 years. She then ventured on to South Australia to study a Bachelor of Oral Health at the University of Adelaide. Sinead has most recently extended her qualifications in 2021 and this has now enabled her to provide general examinations and restorative care to our adult patients. She is also undertaking a Masters in Clinical Education and is now also working at the University of Adelaide as a lecturer to Oral Health Students.
Sinead enjoys the fact that she is able to provide a range of dental care in a variety of settings to children, adolescents and adults.
Lauren has completed an Advanced Diploma in Oral Health and has been a part of Burnside Dental Practice since 2013. Lauren will always go the extra mile to help her patients achieve and maintain a healthy smile, this is what she is passionate about.
Lauren has a big personality and is very thorough in her profession. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages and catching up on how their life has been since their visit. Lauren has developed a very loyal patient base which she is passionate about.
Away from work Lauren enjoys Pilates, walking her dog Ollie and enjoying time with her friends and family.
The practice is very fortunate to have a great team of dental assistants to support our dentists.
Due to the complex nature of a lot of our treatments, the girls require a very diverse skill set. From Dr Ghai’s surgical patients, Dr Sahgal’s wide variety of patients and procedures (from children to Cerecs to root canals), their days are never boring. They have many years of dental experience between them and are all fantastic at their main role – making their patients feel comfortable and at ease.
